"For the budget conscious, we stayed at a very nice hotel -- the Ferionni Dormitory - but it's not a dormitory! It's really nice with marble floors! Can't be beat in town." -- Sekjr, Jul 15, 2008

Comments from Utopians:
"I spent a night with my boyfriend in Rainbow Pacific Suites Hotel. The management should improve their customer service. We wanted to get a standard room for P$1,250, but there was none available. Even if you reserve a room, it's first come first serve. You just go there and try your luck. They might give your reservation to others if you were not there in the lobby from the very start of check-in time and there were others who want to check-in. So, we had no choice but to get superior room for P$1,750. It included a buffet breakfast for only one, so we needed to pay extra for another head. The food at breakfast was, in general, not good (salty, tough) and the dining area had a lot of flies. Room space is good enough for two, there was a sofa aside from the bed. It was clean inside but outside, in the corridor, there were dirty, used plates. The hotel is very accessible to gay area." -- piolo23, Nov 8, 2007
"I spent five nites at the Rainbow Pacific Suites Hotel last month and was VERY unhappy with all aspects of my stay. Rate was P$1,599 and was to include 'an extended' breakfast. No breakfast was offered on 3 of 5 days. What was offered on the other two days was pretty pathetic. Thin walls...very noisy. Lots of ants in my tiny room. The toilet was broken and they couldn't be bothered to fix it. Only good thing about the hotel is its nearness to gay venues." -- stevo, Oct 6, 2007

"Hard to find with only a small sign in front. TV was 15" and years old, no cabinet for clothes or suitcase. Bathroom had no mirror and no plug for electric razor. For back-packers or those without much money to spend on a room." -- Denny, Jul 27, 2007

"If you want to stay at a reasonably priced hostel -- P$800/night -- RUN to the Green Mango in Paranaque! The pictures and description do NOT do it justice. It is a little garden paradise and the desk staff is adorable! Bring your own soap. Do NOT ask them to get you a taxi - it will be double price. Taxi to airport should be no more than P$200 (or P$80 if the meter is turned on). Just walk to the main street and get your own." -- Sekjr, Jun 8, 2008
"solanie hotel is a very affordable hotel within the malate area of manila. rates start at around US$50/night. you may e-mail at myhome@solanie.com or call them at 524-8641, 524-8642. my friend from switzerland went to check in last night and he was pleased with the place. i'm not sure though if they charge for guests staying overnight. enjoy your visit in manila." -- yuri, Mar 17, 2008
"I can recommend Casa De Antonio, 2030 Adriatico St, Malate, 484-0066, 484-3589. There is a G/F coffee shop and food store, and a security guard is stationed at the entrance. Rooms with a fan and multi-channel TV cost P$450, which is an absolute bargain for the area. However, the rooms are small and the beds are just big enough for two. There are separate gents and ladies bathroom on each floor, shared. Bed linen and towels are changed daily, and the whole place is very well maintained. Staff are also very friendly. I had several friends over during the course of my stay, and at no time was anything said. I would advise striking up a genial rapport with all the staff to ease your stay and establish your respectability. It is 10 minutes walk to the excellent Robinsons Mall, 15 minutes walk to Pedro Gil Metrorail Station and Manila Zoo, and 5 minutes walk to the gay bars. There are lots of foreign exchange shops, laundries, restaurants, and a 24-hour Internet café in Adriatico St." -- Alan M., Mar 11, 2008
"I recommend Tropicana Apartment Hotel. Accessible to gay area and mall and very gay friendly at a very reasonable price. The hotel is clean and customer service is excellent." -- piolo23, Nov 8, 2007
"I would like to inform everyone that Makati Palace Hotel is not a good hotel for people like us. The receptionists were all sarcastic. Their security guards were stupid and they were putting down the costumers, especially the foreigners. The place is full of cockroachs. Sorry, MPH, you dissapointed me." -- , May 22, 2007
"Tropicana Apartment Hotel is walking distance to Robinson's mall. Cheap Internet café and laundry service are right next door." -- cdragon, Feb 8, 2007
