  "Stayed at Lavender Lanna Hotel for 2 nights. My first night was spent at a budget room. It was poorly maintained. Some lights were not working. The bathroom was grimy and really small. The walls had dirt patches. But the old air-conditioning worked fine and the bed was surprisingly comfy. No safe in the room. At a price, I was given an upgraded room for my second night. It was bigger and better maintained. The window view ws nice. Still no safe in the room. Had transmission problems with the cable TV. The decor was kinda slapdash in my opinion. Personally, I think this room was overpriced. The signal for free Wi-Fi was very poor or nil in both rooms. Had to do my surfing at the reception area. During my second night, the Net was down intermittently. The reception, lounge and restaurant were tastefully decorated. Breakfast was OK. Be aware that there's a pet dog running around the reception area. Swimming pool was OK. Steam room not operating at all. Limited privacy as occupants at the next building could see the pool area. Despite the big sign advertising the PowerBoys, this bar was closed. I was told by the staff that it was under renovation. Lavender Lanna has been advertised as a gay hotel. On the contrary, I believed it's becoming more mainstream and gay-friendly instead of straight-friendly. I had difficulty making my reservation prior to my arrival.
